Newsletter Update! Welcome to another edition of the PlanetSMS Newsletter, sorry it has taken so long since my last issue, I have been so busy with PlanetSMS Digital Mentorship Monthly things seemed to have passed me by. I have also been enjoying some extra leisure time as I have been investing in a holiday home and I seem to spend more time away from home than at home these days, especially as in the UK we are right in the middle of the summer holidays and my kids have 7 weeks off school. However isn't this supposed to be one of the reasons we do Internet Marketing in the first place. To spend more time with our loved ones. The fact I wake up to views like this most weekends means I must be doing something right.
For this exact reason I have decided to create my newsletters on a monthly basis. This will ultimately mean you get a better service from me and also some structure as you will know you will receive at least one newsletter per month. This will not mean you get less quality from me, far from it. I will still strive to provide top class information just as I have always done, nothing will change there. If this means I need to cover multiple subjects some months then so be it. That's what will happen, and that is exactly what will happen this month. I have so much to share this is going to be a long one so you may want to make a cuppa before you get stuck in :-) Beware Misleading Info That Could Risk Your eBay Account! There are some so called eBay 'experts' that are advising that you buy and sell 1 cent eBooks to get your feedback rating increased quickly. There is actually a new product doing the rounds right now telling you to do this. It is bad advice as if you do this you will lose your eBay account as eBay see this as feedback manipulation. It may not happen right away but it will happen. I receive countless emails from people who have lost their accounts because they sold 1 cent digital items. Some have had feedback in their 1000s and their account has been suspended and their business is over. All because they sold a few 1 cent eBooks. So my advice to you is don't do it. Beware, mini rant coming... This also brings me on to another warning, be careful who you take your advice from. If someone were telling me to do something on eBay I would want to know their credentials. And the best eBay credentials you can have is your eBay feedback. Over 99% of the so called 'eBay Guru's' will not provide you with access to their eBay feedback. You can come to your own conclusions why but if someone were telling me to invest in their product I would want to know their ID. And while some would say it's to protect their business and I can actually understand why some hide their ID all eBay businesses are in the public eye. Anyone can view anyone else's account and see how much they make and how successful they are. There is a major difference between someone telling you how to make money on eBay and someone who actually makes money on eBay. Remember that! Would you rather take eBay advice from someone with a feedback score of 50,000 or 50? Who has the most eBay experience? Someone with 5,000 feedback or 50? Would you rather buy an eBook from someone who really does earn $1000 a week on eBay and will let you see their feedback for proof or someone who claims to earn $1000 a week on eBay? EBay feedback is there for all to see and doesn't lie. A true 'eBay Guru' will be proud to display their eBay feedback, unless of course they have something to hide. In fact some of the best eBay money making products can be bought from??? You guessed it... eBay! Also, if you have an eBay product of your own and want me to promote it you better have some credentials. Here is a true story, I won't name the person involved for obvious reasons but I was contacted to see if I would promote an eBay coaching program, the product looked good. The person promoting was going to show you how he earned his living on eBay. So I asked him for a look at some of his auctions so I could verify he knew what he was talking about. I was told that this could not be done for confidential reasons, I never promoted the product... This may upset a few people but it simply has to be said so I will repeat. Be careful who you take your eBay advice from and if you are unsure ask for credentials, or at least some proof that they know what they are talking about. Please note! This is not an eBay Guru attack. It's just there are some people out there giving bad advice and you need to be careful. There are also some people who give wonderful eBay advice such as Jim Cockrum, Mike Enos, Tim Knox, Lee McIntyre, Skip McGrath, Dave Guindon, Socrates Socratous and a lot more I have not mentioned, all provide excellent free information and I highly recommend you sign up to their newsletters. (Note there are no affiliate links above) Quick Tip! How many people are listing your resale rights eBook? You probably don't know but it's easy to keep track. Just use eBay's favourite search feature. All you need to do is save some keywords that relate to your product as a favourite search, eBay will then email you every time new listings appear with your chosen keywords. This is also an excellent way to make sure people are not selling your non resale rights products and is also an excellent way to 'spy' on the competition. To access this feature just make sure you are logged into eBay before performing any search, you will then see the 'save search' option after making your search. How Well Will My Product Do? Want to write an eBook but you're not sure how well it will do? Try this! Go to eBay and click 'advanced search' and enter your keywords. In this example I will enter 'potty training'. I also tick the 'Search title and description' and 'Completed listings only'. All sold items show in green, and the fact there are a lot means an eBook about 'potty training' could go down very very well indeed. I also check out the ClickBank Marketplace and find there are a lot of potty training products I could promote either in my eBook or on my download page, or better still both. I also know I have a ton of potential JV partners. So I create my eBook, list it on eBay and I have another income stream created. What Do You Do? Let me rephrase that, what do I do? What topic am I considered an 'expert' on? It's selling information products on eBay or using eBay to generate my income. That is my niche, it's what I do best. I don't do AdWords, I have tried but I'm crap at it and it has cost me a fortune. I don't really do AdSense, while I make a few hundred dollars a month I don't consider myself an expert. I don't even know what Craigslist or a Squidoo lens is (seriously) and I have barely visited MySpace or YouTube. What I am trying to say is I have found what I am good at and stuck with it. So if you find yourself trying everything that comes your way you need to take a serious look at what you are doing. Find one thing you are good at and stick with it. Find one niche you can write multiple eBooks on, and no matter what the subject is you can create multiple products. I have created about 10 products about selling info products on eBay and I will create and sell many many more. Become an expert in your field and you will be laughing all the way to the bank. The Best Products To Promote Are... Recurring billing products, I now receive over $4000 each and every month on complete autopilot. Some I started to promote over 2 years ago and still promote to this day. Just remember that recurring billing products can pay you many years after the initial promotion.
